When we realize our insignificance in this world,
it some how relieves the pressures from society to succeed -

There Will Be Blood
Oil is the Devil
Miramax Films

I don’t know as I would recommend this movie for the story as much as for the acting. The story leaves you depressed and confused and knowing that oil is the devil! Where there is oil, there is corruption and someone is going to die to get that almighty dollar from the crude black stuff.

If there is one thing you take from this movie, it’s ANYONE will sell their soul for money!

It also has one of those new Hollywood endings that isn’t what you would expect. The new endings the movie writers are coming up with leave you sort of wondering “Are you for real?! That was the ending!”

The 2 Oscars and 46 wins of other awards is justifiable when you hear the music that is so riveting, the acting that is some of the best I’ve seen, and the believability of it all. The first 20 minutes of the movie there is no speaking, just raw acting. Daniel Day Lewis does a stand up job of acting, and Paul Dano as the corrupt preacher is just creepy! He freaked me out with his high pitched screaming and preaching.

I’d recommend it, but remember you’ll walk away depressed and thinking about how much of a bastard Daniel Plainview (Daniel Day Lewis) is.  Which is why you know he's such a great actor!!
