When we realize our insignificance in this world,
it some how relieves the pressures from society to succeed -

Blood Diamond
Warner Brothers

If you rent only one DVD this summer, this should be it. Blood Diamond blew up at the box office, and is even better now that you can rent the Full Screen version to watch it at home.

Blood Diamond tells a story of the civil war that tore apart Sierra Leone back in 1999. It follows the story of a Mende fisherman (Djimon Hounsou) who was working in the Diamond Mines after being captured by the rebel forces. Ex-Mercenary turned diamond smuggler (Leonardo DiCaprio) is trying to find a rare pink diamond that Hounsou found while working in the mines.

After watching this gripping tale of a breath takingly beautiful, but war torn country, it’ll seriously make you think twice about that glimmering rock on your finger. Action packed with a good mix of love story, war story and an epic human story, this movie should be seen by everyone who thinks the news shows you the truth about the rest of the world.

Hounsou and DiCaprio are both awesome in this movie, but I think Hounsou takes the cake with his amazing performance.

With the summer heat keeping you indoors, take the time to grab a cold six pack, plop yourself down in the A/C and rent this fantastic DVD.
